The Taj Mahal, 2.5 km from the Jaypee Palace, is one of the most renowned monument in the world. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built it for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj is made of pure white marble along with the use of precious and semi-precious stones. Agra fort is at a distance f 5 km from the hotel. It was built by Akbar as a mud-brick fortress, which was later renovated by Jehangir and Shah Jahan during their respective reigns. Akbar's mausoleum at Sikandra was started by Akbar n completed by his son Shah Jahan. It is built of red sandstone with use of marble in between. Itmad-ud-Daulah's tomb was built by Noor Jahan for his father. It is built of white marble. It is the first building where the work of pietra dura as been used for the first time. Taj Mahotsav is a festival of arts, crafts and culture, held between the 18th and 27th of February every year. You can enjoy folk dances, songs, drama performed by celebrities and savor Mughlai delicacies.
